Cider & Beer Festival at Saxbys Cider Saturday 5th August 2023

Alongside our own ciders, we will have guest ciders and local beers at the taproom for this event plus some small, informal talks if you'd like to find out more. The ticket price includes a souvenir reusable cup, notes on the drinks available and producers and 2 tokens for a pint of your choice.

We'll be running a cornhole tournament during the day and cool tunes all day.

Amazing BBQ food from Outta The Smoke will be available 2-8pm.

The bars will be open 2 - 10pm.

£10 per pre-booked ticket. Over 18s only.

Well-behaved dogs and owners are welcome.

GUEST CIDERS
Kentish Pip Craftsman Cider 4.8% ABV (Kent)
Their special version of a traditional cider is an award winning blend of Kentish dessert apples and specifically grown cider apples. The result is a sublime balance of fresh apple flavour, medium dry, with complex notes and subtle bitter tannins. Recent Awards Winner of Kent Cider of the Year 2016 at The Taste of Kent Awards Great Taste Two Star Award 2016

Thistly Cross Whisky Cask Cider 6.7% ABV (East Lothian, Scotland)
The perfect marriage between Scottish methods and Scotland’s favourite craft cider. They use Glen Moray Distillery casks to give their cider it’s warming notes of oak, vanilla and honey.

Oliver’s Fine Cider Traditional Dry 6.3% ABV (Herefordshire)
A dry, still, yet fruity blend of the best bittersweet and sharp cider apples from the 2019 harvest. Cider as it is meant to be according to Tom Oliver.

Pilton Cider Labyrinth 5.9% ABV (Somerset)
The first of a series, the Minotaur blend is built around smooth Harry Masters Jersey from 2020, which delivers gentle tannins and confident maturity. To this they have layered in a young Nehou from 2021 to bring robust astringency. The blend is completed with just enough natural apple sweetness from their classic orchard blend keeved cider. Unfiltered, undiluted, cloudy, still, no sugar or artificial sweetener.

Sheppy’s Cider Farmhouse Draught - Sweet 6.0% ABV (Somerset)
Farmhouse draught is a filtered cider and has been the foundation of Sheppy’s Cider over generations. A traditional blend of cider apple varieties produces this still smooth, satisfying cider.

Join us in the taproom and cider yard at Saxby’s Cider at Grange Farm, Farndish for Blossom Fest 2023. There will be the chance to walk round our orchard, or take a trailer ride, to see the trees in full bloom. There is plenty of seating in the cider yard outside and undercover in the taproom. The bar will be open all day and the cider shop will be open from 2-6pm.

MUSIC LINE-UP

TU-KAY & RYAN An acoustic duo creating music with a positive vibe. They love to bring people a little joy through their songs, blurring the lines between folk, Americana and roots music. First up on the stage from 2pm.

DUNCAN CRAVEN A Saxby’s stalwart, Duncan is a solo guitarist who can entertain fans of many music styles. He’ll keep us rocking through the afternoon into the evening.

HOPE & GLORY A SKA and two-tone tribute band with a cheeky lead singer, covering the greatest hits of Madness, the Specials, Bad Manners, the Beat, the Selecter and many more. They’ll get you up and dancing into the night.

FOOD

FEAST STREETFOOD will be lighting up the BBQ and serving until the evening!

You are welcome to bring your dogs but you are responsible for clearing up after them and they must be well-behaved and kept on a lead at all times. Please do not bring your own food or drink to our taproom. The bar will be open all day and the cider shop will be open from 2-6pm.

We will have a new selection of our special cask-conditioned ciders on sale at our bar too. Try some new ciders that have never been on offer before.

ALDRIDGE AMUSEMENTS are bringing their adventure golf and bouncy castle for family entertainment during the afternoon.

A chilled evening in the taproom featuring the Americana Duo guitarists playing songs from the great American back catalogue inspired by folk, country, old time and contemporary music from the 1930s onwards. The duo play many songs by the great Neil Young and the great Johnny Cash, plus plenty of other material too.

We will be providing free pizza slices to the early birds from 5pm, but as we are not providing a full food offer you are very welcome to bring your own picnic or snacks but please do not bring your own drinks. We will have crisps and pork scratchings to buy at the bar too. The music will start at around 6pm.

Come and spend a relaxed day with us on the farm. Starting at 1pm, enjoy acoustic guitar music from Duncan Craven during the afternoon and ReggaeMattik make a return to play during the evening. Enjoy a delicious BBQ from June Plum from Wellingborough and of course some great ciders and local beers and gins.

The yard and taproom will have benches, tables and barrels set-up and availability will be on a first come first served basis.

No Under 5s after 6.30pm

Please leave your dogs at home as we anticipate this will be a busy event. Please do not bring your own food or drink to our taproom events.

We’ll have music all day, with a DJ in the afternoon and then local indie band, Lunaxis, will play in the evening. Join us in the Saxby’s Cider orchard at Grange Farm, Farndish for Blossom Fest 2020 - our biggest event to date.

We have a fantastic line-up of bands on stage and a DJ throughout the day. There’s something for everyone’s musical taste. There’s even a chill out acoustic area in the orchard during the afternoon.

Charles Knowles - country guitarist from London

Hope & Glory - seven-piece ska and two-tone tribute band from Oxford

Frettlyst – five piece indie rock band from Kettering

Lunaxis – a local festival vibe indie-pop band with influences of folk and blues

Soul D - Five piece band covering funk, jazz and soul party hits from Northampton

The marquee bar will be open all day serving Saxby’s Cider and other local drinks. We also have local street food stands and some fun bar games too.
